One of the things I love most about being a photographer is that I get to see many of my friends from all over the world. The great City of Lights, full of its ornate historic architecture, famous monuments, delectable food, and vibrant nightlife is a wonderful meeting spot. When I invite friends for a visit, they usually eagerly accept the opportunity to experience the most visited capital city in the world.
A Beautiful Friendship
Naoko is one of my favorite wedding and event planners in Hawaii – Wedding Scenes. Over the years we have built a close relationship by helping each other work on a new language. She teaches me Japanese, and I teach her English once a week. I look forward to that visit every week, and we always end up chatting for hours! Naoko is such a sweet, kind person, and it’s hard for anyone to be anything but happy in her presence. I can’t seem to stop laughing when I’m around her, and her joy is infectious!
After one of our weekly meetings, we decided to do a photo shoot for fun. We walked and chatted our way around the streets of Paris. I love how the pictures came out. I was trying to really capture the light that she emanates to the world around her.
Even though we did this session for fun, I think these photos are great examples for how versatile individual shots in a fun location can be. In today’s world, businesses are moving away from extra posed studio headshots and more toward professional photos that show some personality and authenticity. Now professional photos are used for more than just business cards. They should be compatible for use on websites, blogs, emails, and print material. Naoko’s photos are professional and conservative enough to be used in a business setting but also display her fun, sweet personality—even more personable for potential clients than a typical headshot.
