This engagement session had the perfect balance of modern and traditional vibes. The soon-to-be-bride, Sunny, wore a beautiful traditional Korean dress called a hanbok. She looked so lovely in it, especially standing out on the sandy beach as the breeze gently blew the long skirt behind her. Very bridal. And I love that she incorporated a piece of her culture that is important to her, and I think they will both treasure looking back at these photos over the years. These are the kinds of portraits that transcend time and go from save the dates to family heirlooms throughout their journey in marriage. These pictures mark the first chapter in their love story.
about this sweet couple
Sunny and Bryan are getting married in Hawaii in October, and I am so excited for them! I’ll be counting down until their big day – and I know they will be, too! They currently reside in California with their two cute dogs. They are both passionate about food and dogs (two of the greatest joys in life!), so we were able to talk about them during the whole shoot. I could definitely relate! I really enjoyed chatting and getting to know them. The shoot seemed to go by in the blink of an eye and left me feeling even more excited for their wedding day. These two are meant to be!
Their session was sweet, romantic, and laid-back. I took them out to a less-crowded, breathtaking beach lined with steep lava rock. The day was overcast, but it lent itself to a unique and striking look. They leisurely explored the beach and even climbed some of the rock structures as I snapped away. Their posed portraits are stunning, but I really loved capturing their closeness in the more candid moments.
Congrats on your engagement, Sunny and Bryan! I truly loved spending time together during your session. Looking forward to October!
