Sharon and John have the sweetest kind of love that you can see instantly just by looking at them. Their devotion and affection for one another is inspiring. I had so much fun capturing their special destination wedding on the Oahu shore as their Halekulani Wedding Photographer.
The Wonder of Waikiki
The Halekulani Hotel is one of my favorites to shoot at because of the amazing location. Their terrace overlooks the beach of Waikiki and has breathtaking views of Diamond Head. And as if those views were not enough, serene, oasis-like gardens and walkways surround the hotel. For the first look, Sharon and John stood beneath a tall pergola with green vines and delicate white flowers overhead. The soft sunlight made the moment all the more romantic. When John saw his stunning bride for the first time, he couldn’t contain his joy and adoration. I’m partial to first looks because of sweet, intimate moments like these.
Their ceremony took place out on the Hau Terrace. The waves softly rolled in behind them, and the breeze was just perfect. She looked radiant in her tiered lace gown. It was finally time for these two to say, “I do!” After the beautiful ceremony, everyone moved inside to celebrate with dinner, drinks, dessert, and dancing!
They chose a beautiful, classic color scheme—white and green—but I was amazed by the thoughtfulness and personality they put into the design and details. The invitations were custom watercolor prints with their initials and a picture of them on the beach of Oahu as well as their cake. I was blown away! They love to travel and adventure together, so the party favors were little luggage tags—how cute! These two are the best of friends who are deeply in love—I know that their marriage will bring many adventures and even greater love over the years.
