It is always such an honor when a talented photographer chooses you to capture their own most precious moments. For this intimate wedding shoot, I had the great privilege of shooting another fellow photographer’s Maui elopement. Their wedding was truly beautiful with just their two best friends by their side.
this beautiful day
Stacey and Kevin exchanged their heartfelt vows on a secluded natural beach on the island. During the ceremony, the waves washed gently against the lava rock for one of the most serene elopements I have ever seen. They wanted it to just be about them and their love for each other, and that is exactly what they got.
They incorporated some Hawaiian traditions into their ceremony with a local officiant who did an amazing job. The ceremony began with the blowing of the conch shell, announcing the arrival of the bride and groom. During the vows, I love how they placed the lei garlands over each other so carefully with meaning and purpose, just as the tradition was intended.
Afterward, they took some fun photos with their best friends, and then the couple headed over to an even more private location for a few sunset photos as newlyweds. They took some time to really cherish the moment and revel in their marriage, excited for the journey that has just begun. With the soft glow of the sun and the gentle breeze, we could not have asked for a better atmosphere.
Since I’m in Hawaii, I tend to see larger destination weddings, but sometimes it’s so refreshing to capture an elopement like this one. I get to really focus in on the couple and their moment together—a unique experience that they will cherish forever.
Congratulations, Stacey and Kevin! I truly enjoyed capturing your gorgeous wedding day. Here’s to the fun journey ahead!
