A Beautiful Bride in Kauai | Wei’s Bridal
When I was younger, I remember going to a friend’s house and seeing a huge portrait hanging near her parents’ room. A large, lush lawn spread out across the scene with huge oak trees arching overhead, small patches of bright blue sky peeking through—a gorgeous natural backdrop. But the most beautiful part of the picture was the woman. There, in the middle of nature’s beauty, stood a radiant bride dressed in a white flowing gown. Her train gently followed after her across the lawn like a princess. I stood transfixed for a moment, examining the bride’s face. No groom stood by her side, but she looked so confident and elated. A veil of bliss covered her face. It was easy to see that this picture happened right before her wedding day!
“Oh yeah, that’s my mom.” My friend casually responded when she caught me looking. But I had never seen anything like it! That young, beautiful woman was where this home and family began.
Wei’s bridal session
When Wei inquired about doing a bridal session the day before the wedding, I couldn’t wait to capture photos like the ones I had seen years ago in that portrait. I wanted to make her feel like a captivating, confident, glowing bride. We were already on Kauai—the Garden Isle surrounded by the dramatic Na Pali Coast—so the backdrop was perfect. Ancient trees, palm groves, sharp cliffs, and blue waves surrounded us.
Wei’s dress was amazing for these romantic bridal shots (I have a feeling her husband is going to be mesmerized by her elegance). The sequined top had sheer shoulders that sloped into a deep V followed by a full skirt—she certainly stood out as a jewel among the green background. She was a natural in front of the lens, and I had so much fun capturing all of her bridal poses. Meanwhile, her parents were so thoughtful throughout the shoot, making sure we had everything we needed! After this session, I couldn’t wait for the wedding the next day! See the next post for the big event!
